RV BOONDOCKING / FREE CAMPING IN NORTHERN ARIZONA PARTS THREE AND FOUR:

Part 3

(Our third DVD production: "FREE Camping in Northern Arizona - Part Three" my personal favorite will be ready to purchase in Late April 2010. The next: "Northern Arizona - Part Four" will be available in the Fall of 2010).

Here is a quick listing of interesting places featured in "FREE Camping in Northern Arizona - Your Guide to Boondocking the Grand Canyon Region!" Many of which I learned about while working as a bellman for Fred Harvey Lodges at the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.

- Flagstaff: Museum of Northern Arizona, The Visitor's Center, lots of trains, Fourth of July parade, and delicious, family friendly restaurants.

- Coconino National Forest: San Francisco Peaks, beautiful Lockett Meadow, Windy Point, The Cinders (OHV) "Off Highway Vehicle" Motorbike Recreation Area, historic Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crator, and Wupatki National Monuments, the Lava River Cave, Hart Prairie, Slate and Red Mountains and a thrilling hike to the top of Mount Humphreys, the highest point in Arizona at over 12,000 feet!

- South Rim of The Grand Canyon National Park: East Rim Drive including the Historic Desert View Watchtower, remote Comanche Point and Cape Solitude (high above the confluence of the mighty Colorado and Little Colorado Rivers). Five story high Grandview Fire Lookout and Viewpoint with a hike to Horseshoe Mesa's abandoned mines. Spectacular Shoshone Point. We take a hike on the steep South Kaibab Trail to Cedar Ridge and then on to Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the canyon, where we visit Cheyava and Ribbon Falls. Bright Angel Campground and Trail, shady Indian Gardens, Plateau Point and a rugged bushwhack out to the top of the Battleship. Grand Canyon Village and Train, the Hopi House souvenir shop, the historic El Tovar Hotel, Lookout Studio, Bright Angel Lodge, Kolb Studio, NPS Visitors Center and Maswik Lodge. We jump on the West Rim Shuttle out to Powell Memorial, Hopi and Pima Points, and Hermit's Rest. Then it's time to hike on The Hermit Trail first to Dripping Springs then to Santa Maria Springs and down to the powerful Hermit Rapids along the mighty Colorado River. Finally we cap it all off with a wild adventure on Rowe Well Road out to Pasture Wash including Havisupai Point, Ruby Point, and the South Bass Trailhead. Then it's time for a rugged scramble along the Royal Arch Loop hike and rappel to Elves Chasm and return up the South Bass Trail (For Experienced Hikers Only!).

South Kaibab National Forest: Areas around the gateway town of Tusayan and Grandview Fire Lookout tower.

If space permits these segments may also be included or will be in the 7th DVD "Boondocking Western Arizona"

- Peach Springs: "Backroad to the River." Diamond Creek campground and River Rafter Pullout.

- Havasupi Indian Reservation: Hiking by foot or riding a helicopter to Supai, Havasu Falls and Mooney Falls.

The sixth DVD called "FREE Camping in Southern Arizona" will include footage from the Chiricahua Mountains in the southeastern corner of the state. Starting in Portal; called "the Little Yosemite" our trip will take us up around 8000 feet to Rustler Park followed by a decent lower to Chiricahua National Monument, Bisbee, Tombstone, Kartchner Caverns, Sierra Vista and the Dragoon Mountains, to Tucson.
